Determining Your Needs
Whether you are part of a small firm or large firm, a solo business owner or you design and/or consult, we have the plan to meet your needs. Simply fill out one application with the Choice Platform (or send in your current application) and it will be submitted to both of the IEEE-approved insurers. This will provide you with a choice of plan options and limits of liability. Please note, some firms may not qualify for all plan options.
Licensing Board Defense Coverage
Licensing Board Defense Coverage reimburses to the insured for defense costs in the event the insured technology professional is brought before the state licensing board.
Optional Defense Coverage
Optional Defense Coverage may be available with some plan options. This feature allows you to purchase a separate limit of coverage for defense expenses.

Claims-Made Coverage
The Professional Liability Insurance Program for IEEE members offers claims-made coverage. It covers claims made during the policy period resulting from acts committed during the life of the policy.
Prior Acts Coverage
Prior Acts coverage is available if you currently have Professional Liability Insurance. A retroactive date will be placed on your policy, and acts that occurred after that date are considered for coverage.
Premium Credit
Premium credits may be available to individuals who complete an accepted IEEE certification course. Please speak to a representative at 1-800-375-0775 for more information about the premium credits available and what certifications will be accepted.
Premium Financing Payment Options Help Balance Budgets
For individuals or small firms with premiums of $1,000 or more, premium financing is available at competitive annual percentage rates (APR). It's a great tool to help you budget your liability protection.
Credit Cards
For individuals or small firms with premiums of $1,000 or more, MasterCard or Visa may be used to pay your professional liability premiums.
General Liability Insurance Plan for IEEE members
General liability coverage provides businesses with liability protection for claims arising out of bodily injury and property damage; personal injury and advertising injury; and medical payments. This coverage option is available to qualifying firms and individuals providing computer-related professional services. Qualifying applicants must operate their businesses out of their residences. General Liability coverage is only available to insureds of the Certain Underwriters at Lloyd's of London Professional Liability Insurance Plan.
