  • Program Highlights

    • Ideal Protection for Firms or Self-Employed Individuals: It doesn't matter if you are part of a small firm or a large firm, a solo business owner or a designer/consultant, the IEEE Member Professional Liability Insurance Program can help protect your livelihood and your reputation.
    • Various Deductible Options: The IEEE Member Professional Liability Insurance Program offers members various deductible options. Some qualifying firms may even receive a $0 deductible. The deductible options will be dependent on several factors, including but not limited to underwriting, plan option and claim frequency.
    • Drone Coverage: Coverage provided as a result of any claim alleging accidental property damage, trespass, bodily injury or breach of privacy to a third party caused by the insureds operation of a Drone in due course of the insureds performance of professional services.
    • Shared Office Space: Whether you lease or share office space, anyone can claim your liable for injury and try to sue you--even if it wasn’t your fault. You may also be liable for property damage your held responsible for.  General liability coverage provides businesses with liability protection, including shared office space for claims arising out of bodily injury and property damage; personal injury and medical payments. General Liability coverage is only available to insureds of the Certain Underwriters at Lloyd's of London Professional Liability Insurance Plan.
    • Includes Computer Exposures: If you've had trouble getting professional liability coverage in the past because of a computer-related exposure, try the IEEE-sponsored plan. Our underwriting is flexible. And we'll work with you, making every effort to ensure you get the level of comprehensive professional liability protection you need.
    • Expert Legal Counsel to Represent You: You're never alone if you're summoned to court. The IEEE-sponsored Professional Liability Insurance Program is there to assist in the event you are summoned to court.
    • Licensing Board Defense Coverage: Licensing board defense coverage reimburses to the insured for defense costs in the event the insured technology professional is brought before the state licensing board.
    • Optional Defense Coverage: Optional defense coverage may be available with some plan options. This feature allows you to purchase a separate limit of coverage for defense expenses.
    • Negotiated Members-Only Rates: IEEE negotiates competitive rates for its members.
    • Claims-Made Coverage: The Professional Liability Insurance Program for IEEE members offers claims-made coverage. It covers claims made during the policy period resulting from acts committed during the life of the policy.
    • Prior Acts Coverage: Prior Acts Coverage is available if you currently have Professional Liability Insurance. A retroactive date will be placed on your policy, and acts that occurred after that date are considered for coverage.
  • Technology Coverage

    Technology coverage is included at no additional premium. This coverage provides a broad definition of computer systems and information technology-related professional services.

    Whether you are part of a small firm or large firm, a solo business owner or you design and/or consult, we have the plan to meet your needs. Simply fill out one application with the Choice Platform (or send in your current application) and it will be submitted to both of the IEEE-approved insurers. This will provide you with a choice of plan options and limits of liability. Please note, some firms may not qualify for all plan options.

    Premium Discount

    Premium discounts may be available to individuals who complete an accepted IEEE certification course. Please speak to a representative at 800-375-0775 for more information about the premium credits available and what certifications will be accepted.

     

    Premium Financing Payment Options Help Balance Budgets

    For individuals or small firms with premiums of $1,000 or more, premium financing is available at competitive annual percentage rates (APR). It's a great tool to help you budget your liability protection.

     

    Credit Cards

    For individuals or small firms with premiums of $1,000 or more, MasterCard or Visa may be used to pay your professional liability premiums.

  • General Liability Insurance Plan for IEEE Members

    General liability coverage* provides businesses with liability protection for claims arising out of bodily injury and property damage; personal injury and advertising injury; and medical payments. This coverage option is available to qualifying firms and individuals providing computer-related professional services. Qualifying applicants must operate their businesses out of their residences. General liability coverage is only available to insureds of the Certain Underwriters at Lloyd's of London Professional Liability Insurance Plan.
